Dance in moccasins at the solstice pow wow,

reel out grief and joy inside a pulsing circle

dusted by mother earth

Work shoeless in the garden,

hoe weeds away from the cantaloupe

dig your toes deep in loose cool loam

Tell your children the classic folktales you love,

the same ones have traveled the earth

dressed in difference cultures and traditions

Before you act as judge and jury on others,

walk in the woods with them for a while,

remember the one earth we share
